Issues

I have four primary goals:

1 - End the Iraq War

We must maintain our strong position against the threat of terrorism in places like Afghanistan while bringing home our troops with national honor and minimal loss of life as quickly as possible from the ill conceived war in Iraq.

2 - Create New Jobs & Better Roads

Then, we can begin using the billions of dollars saved from the Iraq War to repair our broken economy in a manner that will create thousands of new jobs--rebuilding highways, bridges and utility infrastructure which has been neglected. We must also pursue energy saving research and technology.

3 - Create a Strong Economy and Healthcare System

Help make the economy work for all people by starting to pay down the national debt so we are not under the thumb of foreign countries that are raising the prices of our gasoline and food. I strongly support an equitable tax structure that meets the needs of the middle class and small businesses (the backbone of our country), makes Social Security and Medicare secure and helps solve our national health care crisis.

4 - Scrap No Child Left Behind

Eliminate the Bush Administration's broken "No Child Left Behind" program, replacing it with a reasonable, more focused program that recognizes the realities of our various communities which desperately need genuine educational support.
